The Details

Rebuilt to crank, every time

Your starter has one job: spin the engine fast enough to fire. When it fails, it's usually the solenoid, the contacts, the brushes, or the drive, not the entire unit. We tear it down, replace the worn parts with quality components, and reassemble it so it engages cleanly and cranks strong.

Like every job here, your rebuilt starter gets load-tested on the bench before you leave, so you're not gambling on a part that dies in your driveway. You'll see the same test equipment we use throughout the shop.

Drop off the starter or the whole vehicle for a free test. Have your year, make, model, and engine size ready when you call so we can quote you fast.

Not sure what you need? Bring it in for a free test, we'll tell you straight.

Questions

Good to know

Why does my car click but not start?
A single click or rapid clicking when you turn the key often means a bad starter solenoid or worn starter motor, though it can also be the battery. We test the starter free so you replace the right part.
Can you rebuild the starter solenoid too?
Yes. Solenoids are one of the most common starter failures. We rebuild or replace the solenoid, contacts, brushes, and bushings as part of the job.
How long does a starter rebuild take?
Most starter rebuilds are done the same day, many while you wait. If your starter needs a hard-to-find part, we'll let you know up front.
Do rebuilt starters come with a warranty?
Yes, a 6-month warranty where applicable. It does not cover units damaged by liquid/submersion or parts broken during installation. See our Warranty page for full terms.
